Shuhei Taniguchi started wrestling in high school and, like Takashi Sugiura & Tamon Honda, represented the armed forces in amaresu. Taniguchi's career in amaresu was highly decorated, including participating in the All Japan championships, the biggest event on the amaresu scene. Taniguchi joined the NOAH dojo on May 5th 2005 and debuted as a member of the first NOAH dojo class at the December 24th, 2005 Christmas Eve show.
