Profile:
Takeshi Morishima pursued judo during his school days, and after graduation he joined All Japan, his height and physique making him a natural for professional wrestling. He was beginning to make his way up the All Japan ladder before the NOAH split, which he was part of. In NOAH, he rose up the ranks, forming a new generation tag team named Wild II with Takeshi Rikio, and the two made waves by taking down more established stars. Morishima travelled to the United States in February 2007, wrestling for Ring of Honor. He lost to Samoa Joe on February 16, 2007 before defeating Homicide for the ROH World Championship on the subsequent evening, thus becoming the first non-American to hold the title. Morishima went on to defend the ROH World Title on 20 occasions before losing to Nigel McGuinness. Takeshi Morishima's ascent continued when on March 2, 2008, Morishima achieved the biggest win of his career when he defeated Mitsuharu Misawa at the Budokan Hall event of Pro Wrestling NOAH's Second Navigation Tour to become the 12th GHC Heavyweight Champion. A very big and bulky man, Morishima will be one of the fighters counted on to lead NOAH in it's next generation.
